You Think You Know Someone

More than likely, there is someone near you that is probably a criminal. They may seem nice, but they’re just waiting to strike. I learned this lesson when I found out that my neighbor was trying to break into my home. I would talk to him regularly and even ate food with him on certain occasions. For the most part, I thought he was a normal guy, but he had me and everyone else fooled. I found out that he was breaking in with my security system. I had the system installed as a precautionary measure, and never figured that my own neighbor would be the one to trigger it.

I planned a vacation in the Bahamas, and left for a full two weeks. I never told my neighbor that I was going away, but somehow he figured it out. What he didn’t know was that I had cameras set up around and in my home, which would let me see my home when connecting to my network with my phone. As my neighbor tried to break into my home in the middle of the night while wearing all black, the system was triggered, an alert went off on my phone, and the authorities were contacted.

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the footage of my neighbor in my home. He didn’t even bother to hide his face. The police arrived at my home before he could get out, and he was apprehended. The police contacted me about what happened, but I was still on vacation, and wasn’t about to cut it short because of my neighbor. After two weeks, I got back home and went to the police station to discuss what my neighbor had done. He won’t be going into my home or his home ever again.
